The Young Vic will stage a new version of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge between 4 April 2014 to 7 June 2014. It announced the full cast for this production on 14 January 2014 (see the full Press Release) which includes Nicola who will play Beatrice, the wife of the main character, Eddie Carbone. Nicola’s character
Nicola plays Beatrice, the wife of the main character, Eddie Cardone. “Beatrice” is described in some sources as “a loud mouthed housewife with a heart of gold”. This should be an interesting part for Nicola as it is a character she has not played before. “Beatrice” is stuck in a loveless marriage. There is no better person to play a woman starved of love and affection than Nicola!

Mark Lawson of the Guardian has compiled a list of Top 10 Theatre of 2014 and this production came up on top of the list.
Two of the most subtle character actors in Britain – Mark Strong and Nicola Walker – excel in expressing the unspeakable ambiguities of Miller’s figures.
Digital Version?
The Young Vic is a theatre partner of Digital Theatre. Dare one hope that this production will be available as a digital download at some stage?

We also got our wish fulfilled, kind of. The West End run will be filmed for NT Live. That means fans who cannot get to watch the play in London will have a chance to watch it in their local cinema, if their local cinema is part of the NT Live theatre group.
